Open your eyes.

Today, I’ve come to realize just how incredibly blessed I am to have parents and a brother who accept me for who I am, mainly being my orientation. To have friends who are so incredibly loving that such a thing will make absolutely no difference in the way they treat me and respect me. To live on an island, which although could definitely improve on our human rights and law’s , does not condemn us to death ,or life imprisonment, for being a homosexual. I realize how lucky we are that we can take a stand for our rights and not have to worry about our lives. That we are free to carry out peaceful demonstrations and not get stoned. We are able to walk out of a gay bar and not get beaten so as to end up only a few seconds away from death.

I’m not saying it’s perfect, but many (as I was up until a few minutes ago) don’t realize how lucky we are here. To whom ever is reading this out there, I don’t know what your situation is. I don’t know how bad things are there. But what I do know is; that if you’re reading this, then you must be in a safe environment. One where you don’t have to worry about your own loved ones giving your names to the authorities simply for being homosexual. A place where you aren’t forced to go into hiding, afraid for your life, because you love another man or woman.

Examine your life and appreciate it. You have your basic right. The one that’s being snatched from so many people every day in certain parts of the world;

The right to be happy

Just want to thank Rach for sending the vids. It’s truly changed my perspective and knowledge on things. xxxxx
